This includes ensuring access to social and child protection; education; and health, HIV/AIDS, and post-abuse services. Bantwana programming works closely with individuals, families, communities, and governments to respond to these critical needs, while addressing the structural drivers of HIV, increase resilience and decrease the risk for and impact of HIV/AIDS WEI/Bantwana is a leader in OVC programming and organizational capacity development in high HIV prevalence countries in southern and Eastern Africa.

 

Job Summary:   The District Project Officers (DPO) will provide both administrative and technical support on the day-to-day REAL Fathers field activities in the targeted districts. They are responsible for supporting the direct implementation to stimulate learning, team environment and external relationships at the district and sub county level. The DPOs will ensures the Lower Local Government structures, Community based Mentors and Young Fathers are effectively coordinated to achieve the project goal and objectives in the districts. They will work closely with the District Technical Coordinator and Finance Officer to comply to organizational policies and donor requirements. District Project Officers will be stationed at district local government.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the District Technical Coordinator to manage, monitor, report and build partnerships in allocated districts;
  • Provide technical and administrative support in the field and ensure operational systems are in place to support field activities, including logistics (transport, facilitation, procurement, security, administration, and human resources.
  • Provide leadership to mentors and work with the District Technical Coordinators to ensure an integral approach during implementation of the REAL Fathers project interventions.
  • Support the District Technical Coordination to timely prepare and submit project reports including, activity, quarterly and annual progress reports.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and training in the field as required.
  • Manages and coordinates all field events in the district
  • Regularly ensure that all administrative and programmatic activities are documented (including meeting minutes), analyzed and reported.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Works and Social Administration, Community Development, Gender Studies, Education, Leadership, Management, or any other related degree in Humanities. Additional training in Project Planning and Management is an added advantage
  • Minimum of three years of progressively increasing responsibility working in program management of OVC.
  • Good analysis and strategic planning skills as well as a demonstrated and theoretical understanding of the project cycle, issues of community development are necessary.
  • An appropriate balance of technical, financial, administrative, managerial and interpersonal experience and oversight.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment with community structures and families, flexible and independent.
  • Good organizational, analytical, and oral and written communication skills (in English).
  • Effective organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Versatile multi-tasker with the proven ability to organize and prioritize many urgent tasks.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to project sites within the district including beneficiary households.
  • Ability to ride moto cycle (active permit)
