About Organisation:
The Uganda Press Photo Award (UPPA) was originally initiated in 2012. It began as a competition for the Ugandan photojournalists and photographers who strive to keep their public informed of the daily news, sometimes at great risk to themselves.
Job Summary: We are looking for a proactive and organized Programme Assistant to support our photography-focused programming. This role is ideal for someone kampala-based, with experience or strong interest in arts administration, particularly in visual storytelling and photography, and who brings a keen eye for communications.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the planning and delivery of photography-related events, exhibitions, and workshops
- Assist with internal and external communications, including writing, editing, and social media content
- Coordinate project logistics and timelines
- Liaise with photographers, partners, and other stakeholders
- Maintain documentation and provide general administrative support
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Experience or demonstrated interest in photography, visual arts, or cultural programming
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and a team player
- Comfortable using digital tools for communication and content creation
- Computer-proficiency is a must
