Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply and promote Company’s HSE policies within the geological operations activities. Ensure compliance with “Company’s Best Practices” following regulatory authority, environmental conservation guidelines and internal Company rules for the well preparation process, operational follow-up and post well studies.
- Define the entity objectives in agreement with the Geological Operations & Petrophysics Manager. Recognize and assign resources to fulfill the subsurface geological operations objectives.
- Establish individuals and collective objectives to improve the team performances Contribute to the development of operations geology skills especially for local new professionals.
- Ensure well data acquisition procedures and operations follow HSE guidelines. Accountable for the proper implementation of Pore and Fracture Pressure studies and real-time monitoring of geological operations while drilling. Execute geological operations activities safely and as specified within the WSOR. Assess possible geological risks while drilling and guarantee the timely transmission of this information to the relevant entities.
- Manage data acquisition programs optimizing whenever possible with innovative solutions to safely acquire fit for purpose data achieving well objectives at lowest possible cost preserving data reliability and quality.
- Contribute to the estimation of the Group reserves through proper interpretation of well results participating actively to the petrophysical interpretations and synthesis.
- Guarantee proper dispatch, analysis and storage of rock & fluid samples.
- Ensure full well data recovery and participate to the proper data archiving and distribution of the well data in accordance with the Affiliate data management rules and country regulations.
- Participate actively as contract user in the preparation of CFT’s for contracted services (Mud logging, Drilling & Data Acquisition). Prepare and animate local SQM’s for Mud Logging and Drilling & Data Acquisition services following up operational performance and associated costs in close collaboration with the affiliate drilling team.
- Put in place proper and regular reporting within the subsidiary, to partners, authorities and HQ.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum BSc Hons Degree in Geology or other geosciences disciplines.
- At least 10 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, a significant subsurface operations experience (minimum 5 years) in domains such as Operations Geology, Petrophysics, management and/or onshore drilling, a strong ability to work in a cross functional environment, excellent communication skills.
