Job Summary: A Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling the project schedule to ensure that all activities are executed in a logical sequence and completed within the contractual timeframe. The role involves preparing detailed work schedules, resource-loaded schedules, progress measurement systems, and recovery plans while coordinating with engineering, procurement, construction, and commercial teams. Through continuous analysis of project performance, the Planning Engineer identifies potential delays, critical activities, and risks, enabling timely corrective actions.
Planning Engineer is to support successful project delivery by ensuring effective planning, efficient resource utilization, and proactive schedule management. By providing accurate forecasting, progress reporting, and schedule analysis, the Planning Engineer assists project management in making informed decisions, maintaining stakeholder confidence, and achieving project objectives related to time, cost, quality, and contractual compliance.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
- A master’s degree in project management, Construction Management, or similar is an added advantage.
- Primavera P6 Professional Certification.
- Certified associate in project management (CAPM) or equivalent project management certification.
- Membership in recognized professional engineering institutions is desirable.
- 10 year minimum total experience with 5 years minimum in construction, water works, irrigation projects.
- 3 year minimum experience in project planning, progress monitoring, resource management, and schedule control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Experience in solar energy, construction, irrigation or EPC projects is highly desirable.
