Job Summary: The Construction Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring all civil construction activities undertaken by Nexus Green Limited (NGL) across its projects.
The Construction Manager will provide technical and supervisory support to the Project Manager and ensure that construction works are executed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, contractual requirements, project schedules, PQMP plan and relevant quality standards, environmental, social, health and safety requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
The role will oversee civil works subcontractors and in-house construction activities, monitor progress against approved programmes/ Schedule, ensure effective utilization of resources, support cost and value-for-money management, and ensure that construction works are completed safely, efficiently, within the approved timelines, and to the required quality standards.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, irrigation engineering, water engineering or similar.
- Postgraduate qualification in construction management.
- Professional certification in project management such as PMP, PRINCE2, or an equivalent recognised certification is highly desirable.
- Must be a registered Engineer with a relevant professional body
- A 5 years’ experience in construction supervision of water supply and/ or irrigation infrastructure including similar conventional water treatment plants and pipe networks.
- Proven experience managing projects from planning and mobilisation through execution, commissioning, and completion.
- Demonstrated experience in contractor and subcontractor management, scheduling, and stakeholder management.
- Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously will be an added advantage.
- Experience in solar energy, construction, irrigation or EPC projects is highly desirable.
