Job Summary: Survey University land and protect its boundaries

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate all aspects regarding land owned by the University;
• Handle all technical land operations on the University land;
• Update the land assets register;
• Participate in surveying and opening up boundaries of the University land;
• Follow up on illegal encroachment on land with the University Secretary’s legal department;
• Address land disputes as highlighted in the physical assessment and verification of Makerere University land;
• Provide land related documentation prior to development and investment projects;
• Retrieve/ replace titles for missing certificates of title;
• Report and budget for surveying related tasks;
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor;

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• A Masters Degree in Land Surveying or or Geodesy or Geomatics or GIS (Geographic Information Systems);
• Honors Bachelor’s Degree of Land Surveying or Geomatics or Geodesy;
• Must be a Professional member of the Institution of Surveyors of Uganda;
• Must be a registered Land Surveyor with a valid practicing license from a Surveyors Registration Board of Uganda (SRB)
• Experience
• Three (3) years relevant working experience

Skills/Competences

• Good communication, leadership and interpersonal skills;
• Proficient in using relevant computer packages;
• Team work and team building;
• High integrity.
• Age Limit: APPLICANTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED FIFTY FIVE (55) YEARS OF AGE AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.
