Job Title: Estates Officer – Quantity Surveyor

About Organisation:
Established in 1922 as a humble technical school, Makerere University is one of the oldest and most prestigious Universities in Africa. In January of that year, the school, which was later renamed Uganda Technical College, opened its doors to 14 day students who began studying Carpentry, Building and Mechanics.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate Bills of Quantities and specifications;
- Monitor all ongoing projects
- Evaluate project and maintenance costs;
- Endorse the certificates of works before payments are made;
- Assist in establishing the client’s requirement and undertaking feasibility studies;
- Perform risk, value management and cost control;
- Provide advice on procurement strategy;
- Identify, analyze and develop responses to commercial risks;
- Prepare and analyze costs for tenders.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Quantity Surveying or Bachelor of Science Degree in Building Economics;
- Must be a Professional Member of the Institution of Surveyors of Uganda;
- Must be a Registered Quantity Surveyor with a valid practicing license from the Surveyors Registration Board of Uganda (SRB).
Experience
- Three (3) years relevant working experience
Skills/Competences
- Good communication, leadership and interpersonal skills;
- Proficient in using relevant computer packages;
- Team work and team building;
- High integrity.
Age Limit
- APPLICANTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED FIFTY-FIVE (55) YEARS OF AGE AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.
