About the Company:

CNOOC Uganda Limited is a subsidiary of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). CNOOC International is one of the largest oil and gas companies in Uganda’s energy sector and owns one-third interests in each of Exploration Areas (EA) EA1/1A, EA2 and Kingfisher. Our partners are Total E&P Uganda (33.3%) and Tullow Oil (33.3%). CNOOC International operates the Kingfisher production license.

 

Job Summary:   Responsible for Oil production technology and Oil & Water wells management.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in drilling and completion designs review and make recommendations for efficient operations and production.
  • Technical supports to on-site production, Analyze and solve the oil & water wells problems with solution and advice, and implement the solution, and responsible for acceptance and evaluation.
  • In charge of introduction and application of new technology regarding oil production technology to oilfield to achieve high production efficiency and quality.
  • In charge of oil production technology improvement and oil & water wells related CAPEX management.
  • Work on Oil & Water wells integrity programs and prepare budgets for wells operations and monitor expenses and functionality.
  • In charge of organize wells workover and operation.
  • Collect wells information, prepare operational and technical reports.
  • Supervise projects, track cost, and schedule the various technical projects and ensure contractor compliance to health, safety and environmental.
  • Supervise and train on-site operations personnel to ensure that everyone works as a team in order to meet company objectives.
  • Assist to work with partners and service contractor to carry out the wells operation matters.
  • Provide advice for improvement of the regulation and rules on operation management, and implementation.
  • In charge of production related contractor management.
  • Perform other duties assigned by superior.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Drilling and Completion or the related.
  • At least 4 years’ experience in Oil & Gas industry, including 1-year of experience in Oil & Gas field on-site.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of exploration, development, production, drilling and completion.
  • Knowledge of cost control and laws.
  • Understanding of petroleum contract, reservoir, geology and oil production.
