MTN is an equal opportunity employer and is seeking to recruit competent individuals to fill the vacant Position of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Officer.

Job Summary: To coordinate the company’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) activities in respect of Mobile Money Services by ensuring adherence to the AML, KYC management framework in identifying, controlling, monitoring and reporting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

To provide AML advisory support to the Company and assist in handling enquiries from the law enforcement/regulatory authorities in Uganda.
To review on a continuous basis the KYC documentation submitted by mobile money agents and customers for purposes of compliance
To communicate, coordinate with relevant departments on anti-money laundering related issues and conduct internal anti-money laundering training sessions.
To perform AML functions on an on-going basis, including detection / reporting of suspicious transactions and activities; conduct reviews for the enhancement of the AML functions of MTN, and perform AML risk assessment when required.
To develop and promote risk-based tools/monitoring systems; maintain the AML related database for MTN; review and comment on MTN’s manuals, policies and guidelines from an AML perspective.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

A Bachelor degree in Business, statistics or Mathematics or other relevant area
AML certification
Minimum 2 years’ Experience in Financial Service Risk management
Broad working knowledge of applicable financial regulations, standards & guidelines
Other skills and attributes
Data analysis skills are a must. Working knowledge of ACL
Good interpersonal and problem solving skills.
Commitment to quality and high performance.
Resilience, self-motivation and flexibility.
Ability to work under minimum supervision.
