Job Title: Logistics Manager
Organisation: Rustic Organics
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all logistics and transportation: from raw materials collected by field teams to final delivery to customers in Europe.
- Manage inbound, outbound, local and international shipments.
- Manage carriers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs agents and ensure compliance with export/import regulations.
- Oversee warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, stock control, capacity planning, safety and hygiene.
- Optimize routes, consolidate shipments and control logistics costs.
- Ensure accurate documentation: container booking, shipping documents, customs clearance and order fulfilment.
- Build and manage strong relationships with suppliers and service providers and negotiate favourable terms.
- Lead, coach and develop the logistics team to achieve high performance.
- Prepare reports, analyse logistics performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure high standards of quality, safety, compliance and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management or any related field.
- Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation or warehousing.
- Experience in import and export operations will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of customs procedures, documentation and international trade regulations.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, planning, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics management systems.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
