The Uganda National Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors (UNABCEC) is a business association that brings together Contractors to further their mutual interests. It advocates and lobbies government on policy issues impacting on the National Construction Industry, and builds the capacity of its member organizations.

UNABCEC is currently recruiting for a Program Technical Officer, the position based in Kampala.

Job Purpose: S/he will report to the executive secretary and will in particular be responsible for providing technical support to member organizations in terms of capacity building, professional advisory services, and consultancy services and ensure adherence to national quality standards by member organizations.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Supports and advises the executive secretary on policy and technical issues related to Construction Industry (Cl)

· Quality Assurance of services provided by its members

· Review of s regulations, policies, and guidelines to ensure relevance and practicability to Cl;

· Provide technical and professional advisory services to member organizations

· Coordinate training and capacity building efforts for member organizations on national quality standards

· Facilitate development of systems and tools to monitor the implementation of standards

· Participate in resource mobilization by developing funding proposals

· Undertake periodic reporting on challenges faced by member organizations and come up with solutions

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

· First degree preferably in civil engineering and or construction management from a reputable University, Postgraduate qualification in project planning and management will be an added advantage

· At least 5 years relevant experience from a reputable organization, and aged between 27 and 45 years

· Good written and verbal communication skills, presentation, very good analytical and resource mobilization skills

· Training and capacity building skills
