Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations, ensure compliance, and support the company’s financial health. The ideal candidate will have solid accounting experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, collections, and supplier payments
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial transactions
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and other statutory requirements
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking for projects and service contracts
- Monitor cash flow and support financial planning activities
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors when required
- Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to track inventory and service-related costs
- Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports
- Efficient management of receivables and payables
- Compliance with tax and statutory requirements
- Cash flow management and reporting accuracy
- Audit readiness and documentation quality
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant accounting experience
- Professional certification (ACCA, CPA – partial or full) is an added advantage
- Experience in a trading, engineering, or service-based company is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of local tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Integrity and professionalism in handling financial information
