Job Title: Accountant

Organisation: Dreyz Interior

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting transactions and financial records.
• Prepare invoices, receipts, payment vouchers and financial reports.
• Reconcile bank, cash and supplier accounts.
• Manage accounts pavable and receivable
• Prepare and monitor project budgets, costs and cash
• Track project expenditures against approved BOQs and budgets.
• Support preparation and filing of VAT, PAYE and other statutory returns.
• Maintain proper documentation for all financial
• Prepare monthly management accounts and cash-flow reports.
• Assist management with financial planning and decision-making.
• Work closely with the project and procurement teams to monitor project costs.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company financial procedures.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• A proactive and detail-oriented individual who can take ownership of the company’s accounting function and provide management with accurate and timely financial information.
• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• At least 2-3 years relevant accounting experience, preferably in a project-based business.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with URA, VAT, PAYE and other statutory requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Good analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Professional accounting qualification such as CPA (U) or ACCA is an added advantage.
