Job Summary: The People & Culture Manager at FSD Uganda is responsible for the strategic oversight of the organization’s human and physical resources. This role involves developing and implementing effective policies and procedures to ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance with donor regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Resource Management: Collaborate with the COO to assess and fulfill organizational resourcing needs through comprehensive planning and budget alignment.
- Human Resource Development: Lead talent management practices, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and staff development, ensuring compliance with Ugandan employment laws and donor requirements.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Review and establish HR policies and frameworks related to health, safety, security, and risk management, ensuring effective communication and administrative support.
- Organizational Culture and Climate: Foster a positive work environment that promotes employee engagement, retention, and well-being, while also implementing leadership development strategies.
- Administrative and Logistical Support: Oversee office management, ensuring safety, security, and functionality of the physical workspace, including fleet management and maintenance of office supplies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure mechanisms are in place for staff consultation and feedback, enabling the incorporation of employee perspectives into organizational initiatives.
- The role requires a proactive approach to managing human capital and operational risks, supporting change management processes, and enhancing organizational effectiveness through strategic HR practices
