The Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda (IRA) was established under section 14 of the Insurance Statute 1996 now The Insurance Act, (Chap213) Laws of Uganda, 2000 (Insurance Act) which came into effect on 4th April 1996 and commenced operations in April 1997. The establishment of the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda was a consequence of Government’s adoption of the liberalization and privatization policies which ended its role of directly engaging in the provision of goods and services and taking on the role of supervisor or regulator.
Job Summary: To support the implementation of the Authority’s strategic plan and provide technical backstopping.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the preparation of planning documents.
- Monitor the implementation of the annual plans and overall strategic plan.
- Provide quarterly status reports on the implementation of planned activities.
- Participate in resource mobilisation drives of the Authority
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Market Research & Development Office.
- Liaise with the statistician to put in place an up-to-date database to guide planning.
- Conduct a periodical review of planning documents
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, and any other related field.

- At least 5 years of working experience in a planning role in a reputable organisation
