About US:

The Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda (IRA) was established under section 14 of the Insurance Statute 1996 now The Insurance Act, (Chap213) Laws of Uganda, 2000 (Insurance Act) which came into effect on 4th April 1996 and commenced operations in April 1997. The establishment of the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda was a consequence of Government’s adoption of the liberalization and privatization policies which ended its role of directly engaging in the provision of goods and services and taking on the role of supervisor or regulator.

Job Summary:   Provide safe transport for IRA’s management, staff and equipment to and from designated places.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transport staff/visitors, collect and deliver documents and parcels to various destinations.
• Carry out pre-driving checks.
• Maintain a clean vehicle and ensure the vehicle is not tampered with while being washed.
• Maintain proper records of fuel consumption and service of vehicles from approved garages.
• Verify the working condition of seat belts, door locks and windows.
• Maintain a zero case of accidents; if an accident occurs, it should be reported to the police and followed up.
• Check that vehicles have valid road licenses, motor third parties, comprehensive insurance and car-tracking devices.
• Carry out any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.

• Clean vehicle
• Compliance with road traffic laws and internal policies
• Zero accidents
• Timely execution of errands
• Zero complaints of misuse of vehicles

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• At least A’ Level certificate or its equivalent
• Valid driving license/permit
• A certificate in mechanics & defensive driving is an added advantage.

Competencies

• Personal presentation
• Knowledge of troubleshooting the vehicle faults
• Knowledge of traffic laws
