About Organisation:
The Agent Banking Company (ABC) was established in 2017 by Uganda Banker’s Association (UBA) the umbrella organization for commercial banks in Uganda and Eclectics a pan-African technology company. Similar to the Mobile Money model, Agent Banking empowers commercial banks to appoint agents to provide banking services such as deposits, withdrawals and more on their behalf. Agents can be the local shopkeeper, kiosk owners, supermarket attendant or anyone in your community who has been authorized by your bank.
Job Summary: ABC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Product Development Intern to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in product design, market research, and innovation. The intern will work closely with the Product Development team to support new product initiatives, enhance existing offerings, and assist in the overall product lifecycle.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in researching market trends, competitor analysis, and customer needs to support product development.
- Support the product design and prototyping process, working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Help in gathering and analysing user feedback to improve product features and usability.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and marketing teams to test and refine product concepts.
- Assist in preparing product documentation, reports, and presentations for internal teams and stakeholders.
- Participate in product testing and quality assurance to identify areas for improvement.
- Help manage project timelines and coordinate tasks to ensure smooth product development processes.
- Support the creation of product specifications, wireframes, and mock-ups as needed.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in product development.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Recently completed a bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, Design, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Interest in technology, product development, and innovation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with design tools (Figma, Adobe XD) or project management tools (JIRA, Trello) is a plus.
- Knowledge of market research methods and data analysis is an advantage.
