Job Summary:   The Network & Security Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of compute and networks, designing and deploying systems and network infrastructure according to daily business operations, ensuring high system and network availability through redundancy and data replication, and maintaining the security, integrity, compliance, and continuity of IT systems and services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement network and security strategies in alignment with overall business objectives.
• Evaluate new technologies and solutions to enhance network and security infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement secure network solutions.
• Ensures there is little or no downtime in Interswitch’s server networks which are critical to operations and profitability by close monitoring.
• Designs Interswitch’s network infrastructure and services, including switches, routers, LAN/ WAN, firewalls, load balancers, VPN devices, WAN protocols, and knowledge of dynamic routing protocols such as BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) and iBGP
• Configures and controls network security devices.
• Designs and implements network solutions to support a wide variety of business applications.
• Works with the application development areas and lines of business to provide technology solutions to their business needs.
• Ensures the security and integrity of Interswitch’s network both internally & externally.
• Support and manage Intrusion detection and prevention systems, conduct Network and system vulnerability assessment.
• Configure and support security implementations across the network and systems.
• Performs an analysis of research findings on new technologies and presents findings/ contributions to the Head of Infrastructure.
• Maintains detailed documentation for Interswitch’s IT Network Entire Infrastructure & Enterprise Architecture.
• Provides first, second and third level of support troubleshooting issues affecting Interswitch’s network.
• Supports Interswitch’s project delivery through the application of best practice approaches to IP and transport network design and optimization.
• Configures 3rd party, site to site IPsec VPNs for 3rd party company for the business either via internet or a dedicated P2P link for revenue generation.
• Over-sees the performance of routine maintenance on all network switches and routers.
• Attends to troubleshooting and resolution of network downtime, applies expertise to solve issues escalated by the junior System Admins/IT Support.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree / HND in Computer/System/ Electrical/ Electronic Engineering/ Applied physics/ Computer Science or a related discipline

Professional certifications such as:

• CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)Ter Sc
• CCNA Security
• CompTIA Security+
• Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional, (MCITP- Database Admin)
• ITIL Foundation
• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator)
• Partners product certification – Cloud computing, Stratus, VMWare

Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years in a similar function with a focus on Networks
