 Job
Summary:
  • Take
    charge of the HR management function of the organization, responsible to
    develop and coordinate implementation of HR & administrative systems
    and plans in accordance with GEM mandate and strategic plan.
  • Provides
    administrative support to GEM-U Finance and Administration Director.
 Key
Duties & Responsibilities:
1.     
Human
Resource:
  • Translate
    GEM organizational strategy and goals into an HR strategy
  • Provide
    leadership for organizational HR management
  • Manage
    the HR function of the organization – manuals, guidelines, appraisals,
    welfare…
  • Manage
    the organizational grievance and disciplinary system
  • Responsible
    for staff capacity building and motivation
  • Support
    Fin. & Admin. Director in recruitment
  • Monitor
    adherence to Uganda Labour Law and other regulatory policy compliance
2.    
Administration:
  • Support
    Grant and Contract Management; including soliciting funding and material
    support
  • Overall
    staff management
  • HR
    Manuals, guidelines’ implementation
  • Property/Assets
    management; and office administration
 Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
  • A
    Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences/Organizational Psychology or Human
    Resource Management or any relevant field.
  • A
    Masters’ degree or other relevant qualification is added advantage
  • Higher
    HR Professional training
  • At
    least 4 years’ experience in a similar position especially a child-focused
    NGO.
  • HR
    & Administration Policy, organizational development, human resource
    planning, employment law, personnel recruitment & selection, training
    & development; employee rewards & compensation design &
    administration, human relations, performance management, contracts
    management.
