Malaria Consortium is one of the world’s leading non-profit organizations dedicated to the comprehensive control of malaria and other communicable diseases in Africa and Southeast Asia. Malaria Consortium works with communities, government and non-government agencies, academic institutions, and local and international organizations, to ensure good evidence supports delivery of effective services, providing technical support for monitoring and evaluation of programmes and activities for evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning. Malaria Consortium Uganda works with the Ministry of Health and other Non-Governmental Organizations in reducing the burden of childhood illness specifically malaria, pneumonia, diarrhea and other communicable diseases. Our main areas of interventions involve health system strengthening, malaria control through prevention, diagnostics and case management, operational research and advocacy. The organization has continued to strengthen and broaden the scope of its operations in Uganda and has worked in almost every district in the country since its inception in 2004.

Job Purpose: As part of the Uganda Management Team the post holder will be accountable for the HR administration, resourcing, succession planning, learning and development, reward and employee relations for the organization, in accordance with Malaria Consortium’s Uganda strategic and operational objectives, principles and values. They will also work with the HR Director to roll out Global HR initiatives within Uganda and to ensure head office is kept aware of all HR developments within Uganda.

Education, Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have:

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education or a related discipline
A post-graduate qualification in Human Resources Management
At least 4 years’ experience working in Human Resources
Experience in staff training and facilitation
Experience in general office administration
Knowledge and experience in international employment, reward and recognition, employee relations and training and development
A Fluent level in English, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience in an NGO environment is not required but will be an advantage.
