The Embassy of Iceland in Kampala was established in 2004 while bilateral development cooperation between Iceland and Uganda started in 2000. The Embassy is part of the Icelandic Foreign Service, and its role is to support Uganda’s socio-economic development through development cooperation; strengthen bilateral relations between Iceland and Uganda; and protect the interests of Icelandic citizens and provide assistance in need. Iceland follows a programme-based approach at the district level in its development cooperation with Uganda.
