The Embassy of Iceland in Kampala handles diplomatic relations, international development cooperation, and essential consular services for Icelandic citizens in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Embassy of Iceland is seeking to recruit a motivated and experienced Civil Engineer for the position of Senior Advisor to support the delivery of our development projects and programmes in Uganda.
Responsible for the technical supervision and verification of the construction and rehabilitation of education and WASH infrastructure under the Embassy’s district development programmes. This includes planning, procurement, implementation, and monitoring of construction projects in close collaboration with district technical staff. The position also involves ensuring project quality, efficiency, and long-term maintenance strategies for infrastructure.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. A master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering project planning, procurement, construction project implementation, contract management, and monitoring, preferably in both government and donor-funded settings.
- Registration with the Uganda Engineers Registration Board (ERB) is mandatory.
- A valid driver’s licence is required for this position.
