Job Summary: To support the delivery of a play-based curriculum for children aged 3–6 years in the Humanitarian Play Labs, promoting school readiness and facilitating learners’ transition to primary level. The role will also contribute to the provision of MHPSS services for children and caregivers, and support the identification, inclusion, and referral of children with SEND. In addition, the role will support the integrated delivery of Early Childhood Development (ECD) and health interventions at the household and community level, ensuring that children aged 0–3 years and their caregivers receive essential services, including health, nutrition, stimulation and protection. The role will further support Ultra-Poor Graduation (UPG) households to build resilience and graduate from extreme poverty
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement integrated project activities across ECD, Health, MHPSS, SEND, Livelihood And Transition to Primary Components at The Community Level
- Facilitate the selection of ECD centers and government primary schools according to project criteria.
- Support community mapping and beneficiary identification in target communities.
- Support community structures to deliver quality services aligned to project standards.
- Monitor the implementation of MHPSS screening, referral, and follow-up mechanisms by VHTs, ECD caregivers, and community volunteers.
- Provide regular support and mentoring to educators, caregivers, play leaders, and community volunteers.
- Monitor and provide regular support to Village Health Teams (VHTs), ECD caregivers, play leaders, primary school teachers and community volunteers to ensure quality implementation of project activities.
SAFEGUARDING ROLES
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation.
- Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding to establish a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree In Education, ECD, Public Health, Social Sciences, Developmental studies or related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in community-based programming, preferably in health, ECD, or integrated development projects, Experience working in humanitarian or rural settings is an added advantage
- Knowledge of community health, ECD, and behaviour change approaches.
- Strong facilitation and training skills, Data collection and reporting skills, Interpersonal and community mobilization skills, Problem-solving and adaptability, Basic computer literacy
