About Organisation:

Uganda Christian University (UCU) is an authentic Christian institution established by the Church of Uganda in 1997 in response to a call for quality university education with a Christian perspective. Uganda Christian University replaced the historic Bishop Tucker Theological College which trained clergy and educators during its 84-year history from 1913-1997. The local chief, Hamu Mukasa, granted land for the college to operate in Mukono.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• To provide operational and technical support for IT Computer laboratories to ensure they are available and reliable for teaching, learning, research and examinations
• Assist in deploying, documenting, monitoring and troubleshooting the University infrastructure network
• Assist in deploying, documentation, monitoring, auditing and troubleshooting the University systems and software
• Assist with incident reporting, evidence handling and user security awareness activities
• Observe ICT policies, data-protection obligations, safe practice rules and change-control procedures at all times.
• Answer user queries relating to user systems, software and computers.
• Maintain accurate records, change logs and a growing portfolio of work evidence
• Perform any other related duties reasonably assigned by the supervisor in support of UIS operations.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science or a closely related
• discipline obtained from Uganda Christian University with first class Honors or second class upper.
• Should have graduated from Uganda Christian University not more than three years ago.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows and Linux) and networking concepts
• Genuine willingness to learn through research, supervised practice and mentorship
• Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communication skills, and the discipline to keep clear records
• A collaborative team player with a professional, ethical and customer-service oriented attitude
• Committed to the values, mission and code of conduct of Uganda Christian University
