Job Title: Project Assistant – RMNCAH

Working with international and local partner teams, CUAMM provides medical aid and expertise in 8 African countries: Angola, Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
RMNCAH Services
- Support implementation of RMNCAH activities in assigned districts
- Strengthen antenatal intrapartum, postnatal and newborn care in line with Ministry of Health standards
- Provide/support clinical mentorship. coaching and supportive supervision for maternity teams.
- Support Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC).
- Promote adolescent sexual and reproductive health interventions
- Support prevention and management of Sexual and Gender-Based violence (SGBV).
- Strengthen referral systems for high-risk pregnancies and obstetric and neonatal emergencies.
- Promote breastfeeding and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF)
- Support Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR).
Women’s Oncology
- Support integration of cervical and breast cancer services into routine RMNCAH services.
- Promote awareness screening early detection and referral for oncology services
- Strengthen referral linkages between primary health facilities and specialized oncology centres.
- Support collection and reporting of relevant oncology indicators.
Training, Mentorship and Research
- Support the organization of Continuing Medical Education (CMEs). mentorship visits and on-the-job training
- Strengthen health worker competencies through capacity budding and mentorship.
- Support collection and documentation of data for operational research.
- Document best practices. innovations and lessons learned.
- Collaborate with academic institutions and project partners
Governance, Monitoring and Evaluation
- Support HMIS/DHIS2 data quality analysis reporting and utilization.
- Participate in clinical audits. data quality assessments and performance reviews.
- Support project monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Strengthen collaboration with District Health Teams and health facility leadership
- Contribute to project documentation and reporting
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Diploma in Midwifery from a recognized institution. current registration and valid practicing licence with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
- Experience Required: At least three (3) years of clinical experience in Maternal and Newborn Health.
- Experience working in maternity units at Health Centre III, Health Centre IV or hospital level.
- Experience implementing Ministry of Health programmes or donor-funded RMNCAH projects is an added advantage. particularly for the Project Officer position
Essential Competencies
- Knowledge and application of Uganda Ministry of Health RMNCAH policies and clinical guidelines
- Experience in clinical mentorship, supportive supervision and coaching
- Knowledge of Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care
- Experience in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and MPDSR.
- Understanding of HMIS/DHIS2 reporting systems.
- Strong analytical. planning and report-writing skills
- Excellent communication. facilitation and interpersonal skills.
- Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office sonic-awns
- Ability to work independently and undertake frequent field travel
