Job Summary: The Finance Analyst will support the CFO in financial planning and analysis, cash-flow management, financial reporting, fundraising and investment analysis. The role will work closely with different teams to turn financial and operational data into clear insights that support business decisions and financial performance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts and budgets.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and budget-versus-actual analysis.
- Analyse financial and operational performance and identify key trends, variances and business drivers.
- Prepare unit economics and other financial analyses to support business decisions.
- Conduct scenario, sensitivity and other analysis as required.
Cash Flow & Financial Management
- Prepare and maintain regular cash flow forecasts and liquidity analyses.
- Monitor cash requirements, expenditure and funding needs.
- Identify and escalate significant cash-flow risks and funding gaps.
- Support budget monitoring and financial planning.
Financial & Stakeholder Reporting
- Prepare management, Board, investor and lender financial reports.
- Support operational and financial performance reporting.
- Coordinate responses to investor and lender information requests.
Fundraising & Investment Analysis
- Support fundraising and financing activities, including financial modelling and preparation of supporting materials.
- Maintain accurate financial information for investor and financing processes.
- Analyse investment opportunities, business cases, funding requirements and expected returns.
- Support grant and other funding applications.
Finance Business Partnering
- Work with Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, Product, ESG and other teams to understand business performance.
- Provide financial insights to support cost management, resource allocation and operational decisions.
- Help improve the quality and use of financial and operational information across the business.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, FP&A, investment banking, transaction advisory, consulting or a similar analytical finance role.
- Strong financial modelling and spreadsheet skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel or equivalent tools.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Ability to communicate financial analysis clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a collaborative team.
Preferred
- Experience working with development finance institutions, impact investors or institutional investors.
- Exposure to fundraising, financial due diligence or investor reporting.
- Experience in a high-growth, start-up or operationally complex business.
- Experience in manufacturing, mobility, energy or other asset-intensive sectors.
