AgriBuddy Uganda Limited is a community-based agribusiness company focused on improving smallholder farmers’ incomes and resilience through agricultural inputs, crop production, market linkages, farmer training, agroforestry and value addition.
Job Summary: We are looking for a dynamic, self-driven and results-oriented individual to join our team and support the growth of our farmer-focused insurance, partnerships and funding initiatives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote and sell agricultural insurance solutions to large-scale farmers, farmer groups and farmer organizations.
- Build, maintain and grow strong relationships with farmer organizations, cooperatives, farmer groups and other agricultural stakeholders.
- Identify new opportunities to expand AgriBuddy’s reach and strengthen partnerships within the agricultural sector.
- Identify potential funding, grant and partnership opportunities aligned with the organization’s programmes and strategic objectives.
- Prepare, coordinate and submit funding and partnership proposals and ensure timely follow-up.
- Maintain regular engagement with existing funders and partners and follow up on ongoing projects and commitments.
- Represent the company in farmer engagements, field activities, meetings, workshops and other relevant forums.
- Maintain accurate records of farmer organizations, partnerships, proposals, engagements and follow-up activities.
- Prepare regular reports on activities, opportunities, partnerships and results achieved.
- Work independently while maintaining regular communication and reporting to management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate should have:
- Strong communication, relationship-building and persuasion skills.
- Ability to engage confidently with farmers, farmer groups and organizations.
- A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify and pursue opportunities.
- Good organisational and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Good report writing and documentation skills.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel to the field and work directly with farmers and farmer organizations.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines effectively.
- Previous experience in agriculture, agribusiness, insurance, business development, partnerships, fundraising or community engagement will be an added advantage.
What Success in This Role Looks Like
- The successful candidate will be expected to build a strong pipeline of farmer organizations, grow agricultural insurance uptake, develop valuable partnerships and identify funding opportunities that contribute to the sustainability and growth of AgriBuddy Uganda.
