The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MGLSD) is a cabinet-level government ministry in Uganda responsible for community mobilization, empowerment, and the protection of vulnerable groups.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Call for Applications: Apprenticeship Training Opportunities (150)
- Are you a young person eager to gain practical, hands-on skills and real workplace experience in a specific occupation or trade? The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, with financing from the Government of Uganda, invites applications for Apprenticeship Training Opportunities under the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP).
Programme Benefits

- Receive structured, hands-on training and practical experience under the supervision of professionals and mentors in a chosen occupation or trade.

- Contribute meaningfully to national development. iv. Build valuable networks with industry professionals.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Applications for Level I – Basic Competence Certificate
- Have completed S.4 (UCE) or its equivalent;
- Be between 16 and 35 years of age at the time of application;
- Demonstrate a strong interest in the priority occupation applied for;
- Possess basic communication skills, a willingness to learn, and adaptability to different work environments; and
- Be available for the full duration of the Apprenticeship Programme as specified.
Applications for Level IT – National Artisan Certificate
- Have completed S.6 (UACE) or its equivalent;
- Be between 16 and 35 years of age at the time of application;
- Demonstrate a strong interest in the priority occupation applied for;
- Possess basic communication skills, a willingness to learn, and adaptability to different work environments; and
- Be available for the full duration of the Apprenticeship Programme as specified
