Job Title: Project Manager – IT Projects

Job Summary: The Project Manager leads end‑to‑end delivery of projects in line with MTN’s project management standards and approved scopes. The role ensures projects are executed within agreed timelines, quality expectations, and customer‑centricity guidelines. It oversees project risks, resources, contracts, procurement activities, and stakeholder reporting. The Project Manager ensures effective closure and smooth handover of all completed projects to internal customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure full execution of projects in adherence to best‑practice project management standards and MTN’s governance frameworks.
- Lead the implementation of projects strictly according to the scope and requirements finalized with MTN Group.
- Represent the project in products and services steering committee (SteerCo) meetings, provide strategic progress updates, and secure stage‑gate approvals.
- Oversee regular project reporting, including status updates, dashboards, and risk logs, aligned to business expectations.
- Drive timely implementation of all project components while ensuring adherence to approved timelines and quality requirements.
- Manage the formal handover and sign‑off of completed projects to relevant business units and internal customers.
- Develop detailed project plans showing critical paths, interdependencies, milestones, and deliverables.
- Ensure all projects are delivered following MTN’s customer‑centricity principles, with a strong emphasis on customer impact and experience.
- Lead the management of project contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and performance standards.
- Oversee project procurement processes and ensure accurate and timely reporting of procurement activities.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project human resources, including allocation of responsibilities, team motivation, performance monitoring, and conflict resolution.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with audit and governance requirements.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably Science / Commercial)
- Project management approach such as PMI, Prince II or PMBOK
- Work Experience
- 5 years experience in the area of specialisation
- Experience in IT project management experience and a sound understanding of ITIL standards and best practice within operational environments.
- Experience in creating complex project communications materials; reporting on project status; budgets and results
