Job Summary: We are looking to hire a forward-thinking and strategic HR professional to assume the Human Resources Manager role. This leadership position is integral to our commitment to creating a cohesive, high-performing workforce across our subsidiaries and delivering top-notch HR services to our clients. The successful candidate will be a key player in shaping the people strategy for our organisation, enabling our subsidiaries to attract, retain, and develop exceptional talent while expanding our external HR service offerings.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Subsidiary HR Management:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs to align with each subsidiary’s unique business objectives.
  • Oversee the end-to-end HR lifecycle for all subsidiaries, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Collaborate with subsidiary leadership to ensure a harmonious and inclusive work environment, fostering employee engagement and well-being.
  • Analyse HR metrics and trends to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Work with the IT team to fully onboard internal and external clients to the HR component of the ERP system and make suggestions for its improvement to the IT subsidiary.
  • HR Services for External Clients:
  • Provide expert HR consulting and advisory services to external clients, leveraging the depth of HR knowledge and experience within the holding company.
  • Design and deliver customised HR solutions to meet client needs, encompassing talent acquisition, performance management, and employee development, among other areas.
  • Develop and manage client relationships to secure new business opportunities and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Leadership and Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals, promoting a culture of continuous learning, growth, and accountability.
  • Foster an environment of collaboration, innovation, and customer-centricity within the HR department.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure all HR activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations and guide subsidiaries and clients on HR-related compliance.
  • Mitigate HR-related risks and proactively address potential issues to maintain a legally sound environment.
  • HR Innovation and Strategy:
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging HR trends, and innovative technologies to drive HR strategy within the holding company and for clients.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree or relevant HR certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a strong background in overseeing HR for multiple subsidiaries or providing HR consulting services.
  • Profound understanding of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Adept at managing multiple concurrent HR projects and priorities.
  • Proficiency in HR software and technology.
  • Lines of communication
  • The Position reports to the COO and Managing Partner/CEO.
  • The HR Manager is accessible by AGL staff and can, in turn, access all staff to perform their internal duties.
  • For external clients, the HR Manager works through the COO and CEO to perform clients’ external tasks.

Working conditions

  • Full- Time
  • Working Hours – 8 am – 6 pm
  • Working Days – Monday – Friday
  • Contract 2 years and renewable
  • Starting Salary: UGX 4,800,000 (NET)
