Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

About Organisation:

Be Energy Limited is an oil marketing company in Uganda with already existing successful affiliates under Be Energy Group with a presence in East and Central Africa through the marketing and supply of petroleum products through Kenya to Uganda, DRC, Burundi, South Sudan, and Rwanda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures and programs to ensure effective management of human resources.
  • Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring timely and cost-effective hiring of suitable candidates. Manage the onboarding process for new staff and equally manage the exit process for staff leaving the organization.
  • Responsible for developing and execution of employee motivation strategies in order to improve productivity and performance.
  • Develop and manage performance appraisal systems to drive high performance and conduct reviews
  • Manage the training program for employees by identifying training needs and developing training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Provide administrative support and ensure overall well-being of the employees
  • Manage employee relations, receive employee complaints, mediate conflicts and handle disciplinary procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations and all company policies.
  • Administer employee benefits and related programs.
  • Employee engagement: Implement strategies to foster positive work environment and improve employee engagement and retention.
  • Serve as a bridge between employees and management facilitating effective communication.
  • Any other assignment as may be directed by the line manager

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • A strong University Degree (minimum Bachelor) in the areas of Human Resource Management or other relevant discipline.
  • Details of experience
  • At least 3 years post qualification experience gained in Human resource management

Knowledge, skills and competences

  • Ability to develop HR strategies and align them with the business objectives.
  • An in-depth knowledge of HR best practices and labor laws.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage HR staff and guide the organization
  • Effective presentation and reporting skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and interpersonal skills to build relationships at all levels.
