Job Summary: Daily Process which produces risk numbers for management and regulatory purposes
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Stake holder Engagement / Management – 50%
- Liaise with the relevant risk management stakeholders in order to identify and manage the objectives of collection strategies to drive risk management;
- Liaise with the relevant collection operations stakeholders to manage strategy execution and success;
- Liaise with the relevant compliance and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence legislation and policies
- Manage and set expectations for the outsource collections model
- Manage strategy by reporting on benefit or impact of these changes to the business
- Liaise with the CVM capability team to ensure that the strategy is correctly implemented and that the timelines are within acceptable standards
Strategy Development & Implementation – 30%
- Strategy
- Develop data driven collection strategies within the Retail Customer Value Management (CVM) team;
- Develop detailed strategies that address the entire collection life-cycle;
- Develop several alternative campaign strategies based on an analysis of the data and seasonal/point in time scenarios that will affect portfolio performance
Innovation / New Capabilities
- Identify new collection opportunities to enhance collection strategies i.e. payment capability, reminders, engagement, channels;
- Seek better ways of reporting and changing collection strategies
- Implementation
- Drive implementation of strategies using decision capability (Triad or ASAP)
- Have a good understanding of the collections environment where strategies will be executed
Data Analytics – 20%
Data
- Consolidate the data in a logical manner such that it is analytically ready for Statistical Analysis Software (SAS)
- Identify any data anomalies or trends and investigate possible causes
- Identify external data sources that can enhance internal performance view and support strategies
Measurement
- Produce detailed periodic reports that will track strategies against agreed Risk measurement performance metrics (performance, success and industry);
- Participate in defining operational metrics to measure efficiency to defined Collection strategies;
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Degree in Business or Mathematics or Statistics or Operational Research or Industrial Engineering or Risk Management or equivalent NQF level 6 or higher qualification
- 3 years’ experience is required, in data analysis utilising a standard statistical package such as SAS,SQL
- 1 year experience in SAS Advanced programming for statistical analysis and manipulation of very large data sets
- Advanced computer literacy especially the Microsoft Office suite of programmes (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) (1+ years)
- Intermediate skills in Structured Query Language ( SQL)
- Analytical and numerate
