KOFIH is seeking to recruit 2 dedicated Project Assistants with a strong background in the health sector who will be based at Ministry of Health to support the office of the KOFIH Program Coordinator in the coordination of our infectious diseases project interventions at the Integrated Epidemiology Surveillance and Public Health Emergencies (IESPHE), National Health Laboratory Diagnostic Services (NHLDS), Uganda National Institute for Public Health (UNIPH), Uganda National Public Health Emergency Operation Centre (UNPHEOC). This project is funded by the Republic of Korea and implemented through KOFIH Uganda Office. Position: Project Assistant (2 Positions)
Key Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in project management, particularly in the health or infectious diseases sectors.
- Academic qualifications in public health, public policy management, business administration, strategy or related fields.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills, including reporting, research on related topics, and both written and verbal abilities to effectively support project management and liaise with stakeholders and team members.
- Experience in stakeholder management, including working with inter-governmental bodies.
- Proven ability in performance and risk management, project coordination, and analytical problem-solving.
- Ability to work proactively and under pressure.

What You’ll Do:
- Support the Ministry of Health KOFIH Program Coordinator’s Office by providing technical, administrative, logistical, and operational assistance as needed.
- Track project performance and progress on milestone activities, including risk identification and communication.
- Conduct research and synthesize relevant data to inform evidence-based decision-making.
- Coordinate communication and engagement with key stakeholders, including government entities, the KOFIH Uganda Office, and implementing partners.
- Assist in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, ensuring timely documentation and alignment with performance and risk management frameworks.
- Maintain and manage project documentation, updates, and reporting to support efficient implementation and accountability.
- Documentation of lessons learned.
