Job Summary:   The IT Manager is responsible for the overall planning, direction, and coordination of all IT activities within the company. This includes managing the IT infrastructure, developing and implementing IT strategies, ensuring security and compliance, and overseeing the IT budget. The IT Manager will work closely with other departments to provide technical support and guidance, ensuring that IT systems effectively support the company’s business objectives.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement short and long-term IT strategies aligned with the company’s business short- and long-term goals.
  • Develop and implement policies related to network security, disaster recovery, IT team members recruitment, onboarding & off-boarding and IT infrastructure operations.
  • Analyse business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop short- & long-term solutions for different IT needs.

IT Infrastructure Management:

  • Manage and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure including servers, networks, hardware, software, and cloud services.
  • Analyse existing IT resource utilization and develop strategies to optimize performance and continuous improvement.
  • Working closely with other department managers to assess the growth needs and maintenance of the company’s IT related infrastructure.
  • Monitor and analyse the success of IT initiatives and projects and continually develop and evaluate new technologies and tools for the company

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and maintain IT security policy measures to protect company data and systems from threats internal & external threats.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and security standards.
  • Continuously develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

Budget Management:

  • Monitor and analyse daily IT Infrastructure expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and prepare reports for management review.
  • As the IT Manager you will be the lead negotiator, the Sourcing Manager and responsible for developing partnerships with other relevant technology, business, and legal managers, gathering and development of project requirements, negotiating with suppliers to obtain best in class pricing, contract terms and conditions.
  • Manage & oversee the company IT Department CAPEX & OPEX.

Vendor Management:

  • Negotiate, and develop contracts with external suppliers for Information technology products with a focus on telecommunications and related services.

Technical Support:

  • Conducting training classes and workshops and providing training materials for sensitizing employees on various new & existing systems and applications.
  • Manage and communicating with the staff and management about providing technical support or performing different IT system improvements

Problem Solving and Troubleshooting:

  • Conduct regular assessments to identify areas for improvement and propose solutions to enhance the performance, reliability, and security of our IT related infrastructure.
  • Oversee the troubleshooting and resolution of IT-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to daily operations.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends, and recommend innovative solutions that align with business objectives.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Information Technology, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience at a managerial level.
  • Experience leading and managing large IT projects, Information analysis and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies and operations best practise.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Cloud Computing, enterprise security & network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, in a telecommunication sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices related to telecommunications sector.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
