Job Title:  Assistant Systems Administrator (Fresher IT Jobs)

Job Summary:   The Assistant Systems Administrator position is responsible managing and maintaining FINCA Uganda’s  computer systems and networks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Installing and configuring operating systems, software  applications, and network services.
• Setting up user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Managing LANs (Local Area Networks), WANs (Wide Area Networks), and intranets.
• Implementing security measures, systems including end point protection to protect against unauthorized access, viruses, and malware.
• Regularly backing up data and ensuring disaster recovery systems and processes are operational.
• Assisting employees with technical issues, including hardware and software problems.
• Providing training and documentation for system usage.
• Maintaining servers, workstations, printers, and other hardware components.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware failures.
• Keeping software up to date by applying patches and updates.
• Ensuring installation and compliance with software & hardware licensing requirements.
• Coordinating with other I.T administrators to optimize system performance.
• Participating in planning for technology upgrades, purchases and improvements

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor of Computer Science or related fields
• Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Unix and Microsoft.
• At least 2 years work experience within a technical support environment, including hardware, software and network support experience in a Financial/Banking sector
• Skills in Linux/Unix/Windows system administration
• Knowledge of Enterprise Infrastructure (Servers, Storage, Switching) and Active Directory.
