Job Summary:   The project coordinator is responsible for collaborating with the team in creating SKILLS FOR CHANGE products and acting as a bridge between trainers, beneficiaries, and the design team to ensure the success and forward-thinking of the products.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify grant opportunities for Project Skills for Change.
  • Writing, submitting and managing grant proposals for Skills for Change.
  • Seek internship opportunities with experienced tailors to gain hands-on experience.
  • Join online communities or social media groups dedicated to business to learn from experts and share experiences.
  • Stay up-to-date on fashion trends and techniques.
  • Providing expert advice on fabric selection, design and styling.
  • Contacting schools to introduce the laikipads and ensuring that laikipads are promoted. – So find a market for the laikipads
  • Contact schools for Family Planning and the water project.
  • Explore vocational schools or institutes that offer customized courses.
  • Attend fashion events, workshops, and seminars to connect with industry professionals.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • All applicants must be Ugandan and hold a diploma in textiles and apparel or its equivalent from a recognized technical institution registered by the Ministry of Education and Sports.
  • At least three years of work experience in the non-formal education curriculum for customization is required.
  • Have knowledge of business management.
  • Be able to calculate product costs.
  • Administrative skills.
  • Understand social media well.
  • An eye for style and detail.
  • An interest in textiles, design and fashion.
  • Fundraising and writing skills for grants.
  • Price calculation Skills
  • Budget management skills
  • Be aware of accounting
