The United States
Embassy in Kampala, Uganda has enjoyed diplomatic relations with Uganda for
over 30 years.  Ambassador Deborah R. Malac currently heads the U.S
Mission to Uganda.  The Mission is composed of several offices and
organizations all working under the auspices of the Embassy and at the
direction of the Ambassador.

operating under the U.S Mission to Uganda are:
  • United States Agency for International
    Development (USAID)
  • Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
  • Peace Corps
Job Summary:  The ICASS Service Clerk will be assigned to
the US Mission ICASS customers’ liaison office responsible for the management
and coordination of information concerning residential leased quarters and
government owned buildings repairs and occupation.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
NOTE:  All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed

  • The applicants for the US Embassy ICASS Service Clerk job
    opportunity should hold an  Ordinary
    level certificate (completion of 4 years of secondary school.
  • At least three years of clerical and shop experience, the latter
    related to maintenance operations is required.
  • Good knowledge of maintenance operations and terminology. 
  • The applicant must have good working knowledge of Mission
    correspondence style manuals, clerical practices and procedures, strong
    knowledge of building maintenance operations as well as preventive
    maintenance and inspection procedures is required.
  • The incumbent must have good working knowledge of Department of
    State and associated agency services provision procedures and regulations.
  • Must be able to use computer and typewriter, be able to communicate
    required job tasks to GSO/M supervisors, understanding of basic
    maintenance requirements and have a positive attitude to build a good
    customer relationship with embassy personnel, contractors and others. Must
    hold valid Ugandan driving license.
  • Language:  Level III (good working knowledge)
    English in speaking, reading and writing and level II (limited knowledge)
    in commonly spoken languages like Luganda, Kiswahili or Lusoga is
    required. (This may be tested)
