Operations Officer
carry out duties related to the organizations movement activities.
- Provide support for all administrative and
operational arrangements related to the movements from Uganda to all
destinations, upon receipt of the travel documents and booking requests
with a particular focus to movements to Australia, New Zealand and Europe. - Confirm that all self-payer cases costs
are prepaid prior to making any travel arrangements. - Ensure all beneficiaries are travel ready,
medically cleared and in possession of relevant travel documents, visas
and exit permits. - Arrange/make bookings in AMADEUS as per
“best fare practice” and as per guidelines outlined in the Movement
Management Manual.
Request relevant tickets and create the corresponding Ticket Order Records
in the Global Airline Ticket Order Record. - Prepare and submit the Advance Booking
Notifications and other movement related reports. - Organize and assist departing refugees and
migrants from Entebbe airport. - Identify and raise issues affecting
efficient process delivery. - Undertake in country and out of country
duty trips as assigned. - Any other duties within the incumbent’s
capabilities as assigned by the Operations officer.
Experience:
- The Operations assistant should have finished
a high school diploma preferably in Management or Business
Administration, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. - At minimum of four years of experience in travel industry, knowledge of
AMADEUS or other global reservation systems. - Experience in working with transport
providers, governmental and diplomatic bodies as well as international
organizations. - Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy
and confidentiality in performing responsibilities. - Required IOM functional competencies:
effective communicator, successful negotiator, creative and analytical
thinker, active learner, team player, and cross cultural facilitator.
Proficient in Microsoft office, internet, and outlook
