Job Objective: To support in the provision of financial and accounting support for the department and ensure that all accountancy processes and controls are followed by all UPMB Staff and NESH implementing partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare payment vouchers and cherubs.
Assist in handling all head office daily cash transactions and maintaining cash imprest
Input daily expenditure and cash receipts in the accounting system.
Process financial returns from the implementing facilities.
Assist with lodging documents for processing of duty and VAT exemptions on procured items.
Effect payments of statutory and other payroll deductions and filing annual returns to the relevant government bodies.
Assist the Accountant in the preparation of the monthly reimbursement claims
Assist in the in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
Prepare reliable and accurate books of accounts for the NESH project
Prepare journal vouchers for liquidation of advances and posting these into the accounting system
Timely posting of all expenses to appropriate line items as per the budget and chart of accounts
Manage all NESH banking functions and ensure proper cash management at all times
Keep accounting records, grants management files and other project documentation
Any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Required Qualifications & Experience

A Bachelor Degree of Commerce or Business Administration majoring in Accounting
At least 3 years relevant working experience in NGOs and/or church based organizations.
Knowledge of USG funding guidelines is an added advantage
