Job Summary: The Program Associate will support the effective planning, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of GG’s programs and activities. Working closely with the Program Officer and the team, the Program Associate will support day-to-day program delivery, engage with girls, schools, communities, local leaders, and partners, maintain accurate program records, and contribute to reporting and learning. The role requires a highly organized, proactive, and community-oriented individual who is passionate about advancing the rights, wellbeing, leadership, and opportunities of girls and young women.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Program Delivery
- Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of GGF program activities, field logistics, and stakeholder engagement. (70%)
- Plan and coordinate participant mobilization, recruitment, and onboarding within partner schools, families, and communities.
- Facilitate age-appropriate AIT Model and other project sessions, and support female fellows and girl ambassadors to mentor peers and deliver girl-led social projects.
- Liaise with district leadership and community partners to strengthen partnerships and local support
- Monitoring, quality assurance & Learning (25%)
- Support monitoring, quality assurance, and learning processes and help use program data and feedback to improve implementation.
- Collect critical data on agreed-upon outcomes while identifying risks, including early signals like attendance drops, to adapt program implementation quickly and support continuous learning.
- Prepare reports, stories of impact, and contribute to learning reviews.
- Other (5%)
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor for the improvement of the model.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Education, Community Development, Public Health, Gender Studies, Project Management, or a related field.
- Girl-centered and community-oriented.
- Recent graduates with a strong interest in community development and girls’ empowerment are encouraged to apply.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in program implementation, community development, project coordination, or a related field is an added advantage.
- Experience working with girls, young women, schools, communities, or vulnerable populations is desirable.
- Comfortable working in rural and community-based settings.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft and Google Suite
- Ability to collect, organize, and maintain accurate program data and documentation.
- Strong report-writing, documentation, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities and priorities.
- Committed to safeguarding, confidentiality, accountability, and ethical conduct.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.
- Fluency in English and Luganda, both written and spoken.
