Job Summary: The Procurement Officer will support the implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives, effective contract management, and procurement standards to ensure efficient procurement processes, compliance with regulations, value for money, and continuous improvement in procurement operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of strategic sourcing plans and procurement strategies.
- Support the development and implementation of procurement standards, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct market research, supplier analysis, and price benchmarking to support procurement decisions.
- Participate in supplier sourcing, prequalification, evaluation, and selection processes.
- Assist in the preparation, review, and administration of procurement contracts and framework agreements.
- Monitor contract implementation to ensure compliance with agreed terms and deliverables.
- Support resolution of contract performance issues and disputes.
- Ensure compliance with procurement laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare solicitation documents, purchase orders, evaluation reports, procurement submissions.
- Coordinate procurement activities from requisition to contract award.
- Maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contractual obligation.
- Prepare procurement and contract management reports as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement
- function.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the role should hold at least a minimum of a in Procurement, Business Administration (Procurement), Economics
- A minimum of three years of working experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or contract management
- Professional Certification or training in procurement and supply chain management (e.g., CIPS) is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to write and present analytical and informative reports.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations and compliance standards.
- Has Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Has Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and procurement systems.
