Job Summary: Reporting to the Chief Retail Banking Officer, the role is responsible for providing leadership, strategy execution to the Personal Banking proposition including standard and high net worth customers through growth of the balance sheet and revenue and creation of Customer Value Propositions (CVPs).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the work plan for Personal Banking in line with the overall Retail and Banks’ strategic plan and budget.
- Define performance objectives/standards for the Personal Banking unit and team members in line with the Bank’s overall business plan and monitor performance to ensure achievement.
- Provide strategic and tactical direction to the different business units to achieve New to Bank business targets.
- To provide the Chief Retail Banking Officer with periodical updates on performance, including growth in the personal banking space.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to benchmark market best practices and improve dfcu positioning
- Providing strong leadership to the team to execute the set goals and deliver results.
- Creation of CVPs following proper profiling of customers.
- Drive customer centric culture, accountability and ownership of service pledges for execution that meets and exceeds customer expectations.
- Continuously monitor the quality of the Personal Banking portfolio through reviewing of credit reports and focusing the team on the collection of accounts.
- Work with the Head Integrated Channels and own teams to plan/drive and implement business growth initiatives so as to ensure that set targets are met.
- Ensure that policies and procedures within personal banking are followed and the unit achieves acceptable audit and risk ratings.
- Identify training gaps, competence levels and consult with employees to facilitate their personal development and recommend training programs.
- Put in place mechanisms to ensure that the Personal Banking loan portfolio is monitored, recoveries made to maintain NPA ratio within budget.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a Business discipline.
- An MBA, related masters or professional banking qualification would be of added advantage
- Advanced Leadership Training.
- 8 years’ experience in Banking with particular experience and exposure in Sales and Service.
- 5 years’ experience in a leadership role, in a related field.
- Relevant business exposure, experience and acumen.
- Computer knowledge especially spreadsheet, word &PowerPoint.
- Basic understanding of cross functional structures and operations.
- Strong People management and Leadership skills.
- Outgoing, self-motivated, assertive and proactive.
- A self-driver who is oriented and able to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Good presentation skills to senior level audiences.
- Strong analytical and innovative abilities.
- Effectiveness & full of passion for the organization.
- Ability to develop a succession plan and mentor potential successors for key roles within the subdomain.
