The organization provides life-saving interventions for malnourished children while equipping communities with clean water, sustainable food solutions, healthcare, and livelihood training.
Job Summary: Reporting to the Project Director, the ESA Technical Coordinator will provide day-to-day technical coordination and implementation support across country teams and implementing partners. The role will strengthen the integration of adolescent health and nutrition within broader food security and resilience initiatives, build partner capacity, and translate program evidence into policy and practice.
This position is ideal for a public health or nutrition professional with experience supporting local organizations, coordinating technical programs, and engaging government and development partners in resource-constrained settings.
This is a grant-funded project and subject to grant funding, with an anticipated end date of July 31, 2028.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate technical inputs and implementation support for adolescent health and nutrition activities across East and Southern Africa.
- Support nutrition-sensitive approaches across agriculture, livelihoods, school nutrition, maternal and child health, and water, sanitation, and hygiene programs.
- Assess partner capacity and provide tailored mentoring, coaching, and training to strengthen program design and implementation.
- Coordinate data collection, analysis, and reporting, using monitoring, evaluation, and learning findings to guide program improvements.
- Translate evidence into policy briefs, learning materials, and other products that support decision-making and the expansion of effective approaches.
- Work with government ministries, technical working groups, GFF platforms, and World Bank country teams to strengthen coordination and policy engagement.
- Support CSO and YLO advocacy and collaborate with ENN and consortium partners on policy dialogue, knowledge sharing, and regional learning.
- Promote technical quality and compliance with project guidelines, donor requirements, and GFF CIVIC standards.
- Support the integration of social protection and Graduation Approach activities, incorporating protection considerations throughout program design and implementation.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, or a related health field.
- At least seven years of professional experience planning, implementing, and managing adolescent health and nutrition programs in low-resource settings, particularly within food security and resilience initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical guidance and capacity-building support to government institutions, community stakeholders, and local organizations.
- Experience working with donor regulations, standards, and reporting requirements, including GFF CIVIC or comparable frameworks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, high-quality reports for diverse audiences.
- Ability to adapt programs and strategies to settings with limited infrastructure, staffing, and access to services.
- Fluency in English.
- Experience influencing national health or nutrition policies through technical working groups, policy platforms, or donor coordination mechanisms.
- Experience in advocacy, partnerships, and localization.
- Proficiency in additional local languages.
