Job Title: Project Assistant – I Am Girl

Job Summary: Fields of Life is seeking a competent, motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Project Assistant – I AM GIRL based in Nebbi District.
- The Project Assistant – I AM GIRL will support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of WASH, Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), gender equality, safeguarding, and child protection interventions in schools and communities across Nebbi District.
- The role will work closely with schools, communities, local leaders, and project stakeholders to ensure quality programme delivery and positive outcomes for girls and boys.
- The applicant should be able to speak and write in the native language (Alur) and must be a resident of the West Nile Region.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
WASH Project Implementation
- Support the planning, implementation, supervision, and monitoring of WASH and MM project activities in schools and communities in line with project objectives and quality standards.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting, Documentation and Learning
- Collect project data, track progress against targets, document lessons learned, prepare reports, support project evaluations, and develop success stories, case studies, photographs, and other learning products that capture project achievements.
Community and School Engagement
- Mobilize communities, strengthen school health structures and clubs, facilitate awareness sessions, and promote community ownership of project activities.
Gender Equality and Child Protection
- Integrate gender-responsive approaches, promote girls’ participation, support safeguarding initiatives, and ensure child protection standards are upheld.
Partnerships and Coordination
- Collaborate with district authorities, schools, community leaders, and project partners to ensure effective project delivery and sustainability.
Capacity Building
- Support training and mentoring of teachers, school management committees, community volunteers, and local stakeholders on WASH, MHM, safeguarding and gender issues.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences. Community Development, Adult and Community Education, Public Health. or a Pschology, Development Studies related field
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in WASH, Child Protection, Gender, Education or Community Development programmes.
- Strong monitoring, reporting and community mobilisation skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with communities. schools and local government stakeholders.
- Strong report-writing and data-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to travel extensively within project locations.
