Job Title: Senior Specialist – VAS Operations

Job Summary: To ensure the Fault Free Operation of the Platforms Supporting MTN Uganda Value Added Services and thus driving Revenue Growth. To ensure IN&VAS systems operations KPI-s meet MTN business requirement – availability, reliability, customer complaint resolution.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The individual will act as a Second-level escalation point for faults on VAS platforms (SMSC, USSD).
- Act as a project resource in service upgrades on the VAS platforms (SMSC, USSD), working hand in hand with the Senior Engineers, Planning team and Project Management team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve faults related to SMS and USSD.
- Product configuration of new USSD products (USSD Codes, associated URLs) for new and existing partners.
- Participate in fault resolution on failures affecting Mobile Money as USSD and SMS are an essential part of the Mobile Money ecosystem
- The individual will participate in internal and external audits on the VAS platforms to ensure compliance with set-out audit requirements.
- The individual will participate in creation of change requests for changes on the VAS nodes and presenting these to Change Management Board for Approval.
- Operation and maintenance of other ancillary VAS nodes in the VAS ecosystem (CRBT,MCA…etc)
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- First degree in preferably Electrical Engineering, Telecom Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the area of specialization
- Atleast 3 years of work experience in the Telecom Industry – within a Medium to Large Telco
- Atleast 3 year of experience in VAS platforms (planning /Operations) – SMSC, USSD, MCA, Voicemail, MSDP
