Job Summary: Tankhill Inn by SEB is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Officer to oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensure full statutory compliance, and support effective reporting and decision-making within the finance function.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable (AP) and receivable (AR) i.e. billing, receipting, and collections
- Oversee Treasury Management, daily cashflow and perform regular bank reconciliations
- Process accurate and timely payroll ensuring compliance with the statutory obligations
- Record and reconcile transactions in QuickBooks/Zoho Books, ensure proper financial reporting, and maintain system data integrity.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and reconciliations.
- Support both internal and external audits with required documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Prepare and review company tax returns ensuring accurate and timely submission to regulatory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with the company policies, accounting standards, relevant laws, legislations and regulations.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (minimum Second-Class Upper)
- Professional qualification – CPA (minimum Level 2)
- 2-3 years of proven experience in a similar or related role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Zoho Books, QuickBooks).
- Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements
- Added Advantage: Training in Ugandan Taxation and URA Software.
