FIT has been in operation since 1998 and had an annual turnover of $16.2 million in 2010. FIT controls over 450MT of airfreight export cargo per week through our network of offices across East Africa by offering customers seamless synchronized solutions.
Job Summary: Freight In Time is hiring a visionary Country Manager to spearhead commercial success and operational excellence in Uganda. This is a high-impact role for a strategic leader ready to transform logistics, elevate service delivery, and drive business expansion.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations and cross-functional teams
- Drive commercial strategy and customer experience
- Develop systems for sales, HR, pricing, and credit
- Coordinate international freight and regional transit movements
- Ensure financial governance and compliance across operations
- Represent FIT across agent networks and local partnerships
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- 8+ years’ experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain leadership
- Proven success in team leadership, commercial strategy, and operational oversight
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, reporting, and cost control
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and process optimization skills
- Familiarity with East African transit logistics and international freight standards
