The Vision Group incorporated as the New Vision Printing & Publishing Company Limited (NVPPCL), started the business in March 1986. It is a multimedia business housing newspaper, magazines, internet publishing, television, radio broadcasting, commercial printing, advertising and distribution services. NVPPCL is listed on the Uganda Stock Exchange, with an expected turnover of over UGX 60 billion (FY 2010/2011).

Job Summary: Transport staff and company products to assigned destinations and ensure the vehicles are kept in good condition at all times.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handle all driving assignments as approved by the supervisor;

• Carry out daily pre and post vehicle maintenance checks;

• Adhere to the highest driving standards by complying with the transport policy and the road safety act.

• Ensure assigned vehicle has all the required documentation at all times.

• Ensure daily cleanliness of assigned vehicle.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• A Uganda Certificate of Education (U.C.E).

• A certificate in defensive driving.

• The applicant must possess a valid driving permit with at least 3 classes; B, C, D1 & E

• At least 3 years’ driving experience in a commercial environment.

• Technical competences

• Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics.

• Basic computer skills.

• Good knowledge of Uganda’s road network.

Behavioral competences

• Ability to write, read and speak English fluently.

• Excellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills.

• Should have a high level of integrity and confidentiality.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule

• with odd hours and night shifts.
