Job Summary: DIV is hiring an Accountant and Administrator to handle monthly reporting, cash flow, compliance, and administrative duties. This critical role is best suited for a young, energized female professional who understands Uganda’s compliance landscape and is ready to add real value to the team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial Accounting: Planning and Budgeting, Financial Reporting, Cash Flow Management, Support month-end and year-end closing processes, Data entry into accounting software, Reconcile bank statements, support during internal and external audits
- AR & AP: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensure that outstanding payments are recovered efficiently, provide cash for expenses like office supplies, facilitations, repairs, operations on site, submit daily cash transactions with documentation,
- Compliance & Taxes: Tax Compliance, Preparing and timely filing tax returns i.e. VAT, PAYE, NSSF, ensure compliance and clearances with financial & Legal regulations such as KCCA, URSB, URA, NSSF and internal policies, Oversee the payroll process
- Administrative & Operational Support: Office Management: Procurement of supplies and maintenance of office equipment. Assist with HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, policy Implementation, Review bids and provide oversight, Event Coordination
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA certification is an added advantage
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Experience in cash flow management, AR/AP, and compliance
- Familiarity with URA, NSSF, and related tax bodies and procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
