Next Media is the leading multimedia company in Uganda aspiring to become the most relevant media in Africa. Next Media has evolved from one television station to three television stations, web products, an online news portal, a radio station, and a media production agency.

 

Job Summary:   We’re seeking an experienced and innovative Brand Manager to lead the development and implementation of marketing strategies for our youth-focused content brands within Next Media. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in brand management, marketing, and youth culture, with a passion for creating engaging content that resonates with young audiences.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Brand Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive brand strategies to position our youth content brands as the leading destination for young audiences.
  • Content Marketing: Collaborate with the content team to develop and promote engaging content that resonates with young audiences, including social media, video, and influencer marketing.
  • Youth Insights: Stay up-to-date with the latest youth trends, insights, and cultural shifts to inform brand strategies and content development.
  • Marketing Campaigns: Plan, execute, and measure the success of marketing campaigns across various channels, including social media, email, and influencer marketing.
  • Brand Identity: Manage and maintain the brand identity, including the logo, visual elements, tone of voice, and overall brand aesthetic.
  • Budgeting and Resource Management: Manage budgets, resources, and workflows to ensure efficient and effective brand management.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including content creators, influencers, and partners.
  • Brand Performance Analysis: Analyze brand performance using data and analytics tools, and adjust brand strategies accordingly.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with other departments within Next Media , including programming, Content, and Commercial , to ensure seamless integration and effective brand messaging.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • At least 3years of experience in brand management, marketing, or a related field, with a focus on youth culture and content.
  • Brand Management Skills: Proven brand management skills, including brand strategy development, content marketing, and marketing campaign execution.
  • Youth Culture Knowledge: Strong understanding of youth culture, trends, and insights.
  • Media Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the media industry, including broadcasting, digital media, and content creation.
  • Creative Thinking: Ability to think creatively and develop innovative brand strategies that resonate with young audiences.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including content, marketing, and sales.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to optimize brand performance.
  • Passion for Youth Culture: Passion for youth culture and content, with a deep understanding of the latest trends and insights.
